ABOUT
STUDIO LUKEE is the design portfolio of Luke Quinn de Jager.
A collection of collaborative work with skilled people of all ages.
My focus lies in designing with Children & their Play Culture.
My aim is to support the child's voice within the design process and to see young people confident in their expression & leadership. I do this through my skillset as a Visual Communicator, Spacial Designer, Workshop Experience Planner, Maker & Player.
I am an advocate for hands-on experience-based learning driven by personal curiosity and play. Working with the child's interests is therefore a priority.
I worked at the child-centred design studio See Saw Do for five years. Developing the studio alongside a small team, I contributed to a full range of strategic business and design-related tasks from concept to implementation. After which I received a scholarship to further my studies through the 2 year Master's program in Child Culture Design at HDK, Gothenburg University, Sweden. I graduated, receiving the Inga och Ove Blidbergs Foundation Award.
My Master Thesis focussed on how children adapt the city through their play. I explored how I can learn from children's approach and move with improvisational play in design practice.
Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Communication at Stellenbosch University. It was there that my interest in co-design and youth development began. I volunteered at various Youth Programs and completed a degree project using Human-Centred Design Methods to work with children from a local school.
